Major Fred Riley, In His 50th Year
Senior Major Fred Riley, 49, resident manager of the Salvation Army's Evangeline residence in Pittsburgh, Pa., died in Mercy hospital there, yesterday, of a heart seizure.
Major Riley, who went to Pittsburgh from New York City, 18 months ago, formerly was commander of the Newburgh Salvation Army Corps. He also was a divisional officer in the Eastern New York division, with headquarters in Albany, prior to going to New York City. He also had served with the USO forces.
