Obituary

Marshall, Norman Stephen Jr., 75, of Clearwater, died Tuesday (Oct. 24, 1995) at home. He was born in Chicago and came here in 1989 from Asbury Park, N.J. He spent his career in the Salvation Army and was its national commander from 1983 to 1986. He was the fourth generation of his family to serve in the Salvation Army; his father had been national commander. He was on the Board of Trustees of Asbury Theological Seminary, Lexington, Ky. His memberships included Rotary clubs in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and New York City, and Kiwanis clubs in Portland, Maine, and Pawtucket, R.I. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marjorie M.; two sons, Norman S. III, St. Paul, Minn., and John F., Edmond, Okla.; two daughters, Anne Katherine Schwartz, Park Ridge, Ill., and Evelyn Tanne Santa Maria, Chicago; a brother, Richard C., Helen, Ga.; a sister, Edith Breithaupt, Palm Harbor; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
