Kyle's first foreign appointment was California, where he organized the Salvation Cavalcade, where musical salvationists traveled a thousand miles in six weeks to visit mining camps, ranches and small towns,
After three years on the coast, came a year in Pennsylvania. Then a furlough in the Old Country, followed by an appointment in Australia. Amongst his appointments were Divisional Officer for Bullarat, Colony Commander, Queensland; Social Secretary for Australia; and lastly Editorial Chair of the Army’s publications in that country.
