Obituary
Services for Lt. Col. June Rader, 59, of Bloomfield, an officer in the Salvation Army, were held Nov. 23 in the Salvation Army Centennial Memorial Temple, New York City. Arrangements were by the Wilfred Armitage Funeral Home, Kearny.
Lt. Col. Rader died Nov. 20 in her home.
She and her husband Lt. Col. Damon L., served as ministers in the Courtland, N.Y. and Kearny Corps, and then at the Eastern Territorial Headquarters in West Nyack, N.Y., where they were in charge of officer recruitment, training and pastoral care of officers for the past 23 years.
Before that, they served in Zimbabwe for four years and Zambia for six years.
Lt. Col. Rader was 1955 graduate of Asbury College in Kentucky with a degree in biology and health sciences and a teaching certificate in secondary education.
Born in Braddock, Pa., she lived in Kearny and Suffern, N.Y., before moving to Bloomfiled eight years ago.
Also surviving are four daughters, Lt. Diana Winters, Mrs. Carolyn June Bailey and Robin Joy and Alison Dawn; a brother, Rev. William Dearin, and three grandchildren.
