Obituary
LENNY T. WACENSKE, 53, of Springfield passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born February 3, 1965 in Canandaigua, New York. Lenny worked for the Springfield Post Office. He retired from The Salvation Army after 20 years of service. Lenny was a volunteer firefighter with the Sayre Pennsylvania Fire Department. He was also the Assistant Fire Chief for the Fredonia Fire Department in New York. Lenny was a huge Boston Red Sox fan. He didn’t know a stranger and made everyone a part of his life. To his family he was a beloved husband, father and papa and their everything.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Jennifer K. Wacenske; two daughters, Stephanie (Timothy) Johnson of Springfield; Samantha (David) Matteson of Clarksville, Tennessee; and his baby cakes, his granddaughter, Robyn Johnson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 2-4 pm in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of Lenny’s life will begin at 4 pm in the funeral home with his brother-in-law, Major Larry Ashcraft officiating.
