Hodder served many appointments in Great Britain as a Field and Divisional Officer. In 1888, Major Hodder was appointed as Territorial Leader for Holland. In August 1908, Colonel Hodder was appointed as leader in Japan. He returned to London July 1914 due to health issues. In November 1914, he was appointed Territorial Commander of the New Zealand Territory and then of Canada West Territory in 1922.
