Obituary
Lester L. Baker Sr, 65, of 1409 Sassafras Street, died at 9:45 am in Franklin Hospital. Born in Raymilton March 24, 1907, he was a son of John C. and Ada Adams Baker.
He was a retired truck driver, a member of the Franklin Salvation Army, a life member of the Moose and a member of the Eagles.
On April 4, 1925, he married Edith Connell, who died Nov. 20 1970; on Oct. 7, 1972, he married Myrtle Sliter, who survives, with six daughters Elnora (Frank) Baker and Mary (reed) Stright of Franklin RD 1, Martha (Calvin) Greathouse of Franklin, Ruth (Charles E.) Hawkins and Helen (Vernon) Harris of Polk RD 1, and Edith (William) Beach of Oil City; sons Captain Lester L. Baker Jr. with the Salvation Army in Rome, NY, and Lt. James C. Baker with the Salvation Army in Wilmington, DE; brothers Bernard B. of Franklin RD 1, Loyal of Oil City, and Herbert of Meadville; a sister, Clarabell (Edgar) Dille of Franklin; 15 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Domer and John.
Services will be at 2 pm Thursday in Leverne L. Burger Funeral Home with Captain Mervin Sedler of the Salvation Army officiating, assisted by Captain Ann Tate of the Salvation Army staff. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery.
