Obituary
The Rev. Alex Lyall, 71, of 506 Poinsettia St., Corona del Mar, died Dec. 19, in Hoag Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Scotland, he had lived in California for the past 35 years. Following his retirement as rector of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter of Los Angeles he came to Corona del Mar 16 months ago.
Surviving relatives are a son, the Rev. Gordon Lyall of Glenview, Ill., and a daughter, Mrs. Dorothea Reidel of Corona Del Mar.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church of Newport Beach with the officiants, Bishop Donald James Campbell, and the Rev. John Parke, rector of St. James Episcopal Church of Newport Beach. Interment will be made in Westminster Memorial Park. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Episcopal Church Home for Children, at 940 North Avenue 63, Los Angeles, Baltz Corona del Mar Mortuary Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
