Lt. Colonel William A. Bamford Jr., 75, formerly of Asbury Park, N.J., was called heavenward on April 12, 2010. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 17, from 10 to 11 a.m. at The Bradenton Salvation Army, 5328 24th St. E., Bradenton, Fla. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. A private family committal will be held Saturday afternoon at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Fla. Bill was divisional commander for the New Jersey Division of the Salvation Army and, after 34 years of active serice, retired to Bradenton, Fla. He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, William, Jeffrey and Donald; daughters-in-law, Lorraine, Rose Marie and Wendy; eight grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1179, Bradenton, Fla. 34206.
