The Salvation Army Welcomes Associate Leadership In Seattle, WA

The Salvation Army Northwest Division announces the appointments of Lieutenants Sarah and Ruairi Ward to its location at Seattle in the Greenwood area. Lieutenants Ward will be the Associate Corps Officer, working alongside Majors Rob and Amy Reardon.

For the past three years, Lts. Ward have served at The Salvation Army in South San Francisco, California. In June 2014, they graduated from The Salvation Army Officer Training College in Ranchos Palos Verdes, CA, both receiving an Associates of Ministry degree. Lieutenants Ward have three children: Séamus (age 3), Cillian (age 2) and twins Rónán and Pearse (6 months).

As Salvation Army officers, Lts. Ward expect to be reassigned throughout their career. The commitment of being an officer includes moving your family frequently, and accepting reassignments based on career development and filling the needs of The Salvation Army locations. The assignment in Seattle is an acknowledgement of their ability to impact a growing facility and social services programs.

They began work in Seattle on June 28. “We are excited to be part of a dynamic ministry that is focused on meeting the growing need of North King County. Lt. Sarah is originally a Washingtonian from Spokane, so we are delighted to be coming home to the Northwest,” Lieutenant Ruairi said.
