Robert S. Hedgren, 86, of Rockford died at 10:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, in Provena Cor Mariae Center. Born April 20, 1917, in Chicago, the son of Victor and Gerda Erickson Hedgren.
Rockford resident for more than 20 years, coming from Chicago. Robert married Eleanor S. Andersen June 7, 1941, in Chicago. Veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. Robert was a member of The Salvation Army.
Survivors include wife, Eleanor daughters, Claudia Sjogren of Atlanta, Ga., Diane (Norman) Marshall of Southfield, Mich. son, R. Steven (Judy) Hedgren of Oklahoma City, Okla. eight grandchildren three great-grandchildren sisters, Alyce Larson of Plantation, Fla., Violet Land and Margaret Wright, both of Elgin numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by daughter, Deborah and brothers, Rudolph and Harold.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in The Salvation Army Temple with Maj. Daniel Sjogren and Maj. Alvin Nelson officiating. No visitation. Eleanor S. Hedgren, 89, of Rockford died at 11:10 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, after a sudden illness. Born Sept. 27, 1918, in Chicago, the daughter of Bert and Marie Andersen.
She married Robert S. Hedgren on June 7, 1941, in Chicago; he died Nov. 10, 2003. Eleanor was a member of the Salvation Army.
Survived by children, Claudia Sjogren of Atlanta, Diane (Norman) Marshall of Southfield, Mich., and R. Steven (Judy) Hedgren of Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also predeceased by daughter, Deborah; brother, Arthur Andersen; and sister, Bernice Fish.
Memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, in The Salvation Army Rockford Temple Corps, 500 S. Rockford Ave., with Major Norman Marshall and Major Brian Merritt officiating.
