Lt. Daniel Moore, Corps Officer of the Salvation Army in Ogdensburg, has announced that they will be holding old-fashioned Open-Air Meetings every Sunday evening at 6:15 p.m. at different locations around the city. The location for today will be Morissette Park.
These meetings will include music, scripture readings and a short message. All are invited to join with The Salvation Army each Sunday for these times of inspiration.
The Salvation Army has also announced that they will be holding a Music School July 6-10 at their headquarters at 401 Franklin St. The classes will be open to the public during the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. There will be instruction available for brass instruments as well as vocal classes. This Music School will be under the direction of Charles Knickerbocker from The Salvation Army's headquarters in Syracuse.
A Daily Vacation Bible School will be held July 13-17 and 20-24 for any child ages 4-14. The theme for the Bible School will be “The Music Machine,” which teaches children the Fruits of the Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Each day the children will learn a new song and at the end of the Bible School, they will present a musical to their parents during the Graduation Exercises.
This Bible School will start at 10:30 a.m. and go through 3 p.m. for the two weeks. Children attending are asked to bring a bag lunch and The Salvation Army will provide the drinks. This promises to be an enjoyable and educational time for the children who attend.
