Samuel Bramwell Royle, 96, of Reading, last residing in Sinking Spring, passed away August 17, 2015 in Penn State Health St. Joseph.

His wife Rita S (Keller) Royle passed away April 5, 2009. He was born in Norristown, PA on May 21, 1919, a son of the late William and Emma (Altemus) Royle.
\\ \\
Sam was a member of The Salvation Army and a longtime Band Master of The Salvation Army. He was a Reading Firefighter for more than 20 years retiring there.
\\ \\
He is survived by his son, Donald E and his wife Sharon Royle of Sinking Spring, his 3 daughters; [[Susan Royle Mackneer|Susan B]] and her husband [[Mark Mackneer]] of Strongsville, OH., Brenda J and her husband Major [[Colin DeVault|Colin D DeVault]] of Sinking Spring, and Debra L Alvarez of Sinking Spring. There are 8 grandchildren, Jason, Jeffery, Robert, Rachel, Andrew, Chris, Michael, Emma, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Samuel was predeceased by his 2 children, Samuel Royle, Jr and Nancy L Royle and also his siblings, Florence Royle, John Royle, and Ruth Kline.
\\ \\
Services will be Thursday August 20, 2015 at 10 am in Theo C Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn St., Reading. Burial to follow in Laureldale Cemetery. A viewing will be Wednesday August 19, 2015 from 6-8pm and Thursday 9-10 am in the funeral home.
\\ \\
In lieu of lowers, contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 301 S 5th St., Reading PA 19602 in Sam's memory.
