D. Allen, Spruce street, has received word of the death of her sister, Mrs. A. Gifford, wife of Lieutenant Commissioner of the Salvation Army who has charge of the Salvation army work in the West and Hawaiian Island (sic) which occurred Sunday morning at her home in Burlingame, California. Mrs Gifford was formerly of this city. She had undergone an operation several months ago and since then her health has steadily failed Besides her husband she leaves her mother, Mrs. Mary Adams, three sons, [[Edward Gifford|R. E. Gifford]], Los Angeles; [[Ranson Gifford|Ranson A. Gifford]], Portland, Oregon, and Theodore Adams (sic, should be Gifford), at home; also three brothers, E. D. Allen (sic, should be Adams) Butte, Montana; J. A. Adams, Tionesta: G. W.
