Both young people graduated from West Pittston High School. //Wilkes-Barre Times Leader, September 8, 1941// ====Get Commissions In Salvation Army==== Mr. and Mrs. George Gombert of 717 Wyoming avenue, West Pittston, have returned from New York after attending the commissioning of their son, Cadet Kenneth Gombert and his wife, the former Helen Williamson, in the Salvation Army. \\ \\ They received the commissions of probationary captains and will be in command of the Salvation Army Corps at [[Lewistown PA|Lewistown, Pa]]. Kenneth Gombert Accepts New Charge==== Rev. Kenneth V. Gombert, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Church for two and a half years, has accepted pastorate of the Methodist Church in Taylor, effective September 1. \\ \\ Rev. Mr. Gombert is a son of Mr. and Mrs. George I. Gombert of Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston. He was graduated from Pittston High School and was engaged in Salvation Army work for several years before entering the Methodist ministry. He was graduated from Juanita College, Huntingdon, attended Westminster Theological Seminary in Maryland and was graduated in June from the Evangelical School of Theology in Reading. \\ \\ Rev. Mr. Gombert is married to the former Helen M. Williamson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Williamson, Franklin Street, West Pittston.
