John J. Bamford had worked in several posts in the eastern United States. He had lived since he retired 16 years ago.

He attended International Training College for Salvation Army officers, London.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Ann Bamford; a son, Senior Maj. [[William Bamford|William A. Bamford]], with the Salvation Army in Philadelphia; two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Burton, Hartford, Coon., and Miss Winifred Bamford, West Belmar; two brothers, Arthur and William, both in England, and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
