Roberts, age 94, a resident of Sterling Heights, passed away October 28, 2014 at her home. She was born November 30, 1919 in Sioux City, IA to the late Arthur and Verna Anderson. Commissioner Roberts served in the Salvation Army for 45 years, where she held many important assignments in the United States, Australia and England. She currently has two of her children serving as Salvation Army officers. She was the beloved wife of Commissioner William H. Roberts; the couple married May 9, 1945 in Des Moines, IA; loving mother of Commissioner William A. (Nancy) Roberts of London, England, Suzanne R. (Victor) Danielson of Indianapolis, IN, Major Linda M. Mitchell of Westland, Betty A. (Rev. Dr. Joseph) Baunoch of Mishawaka, IN and John Paul (Patricia) Roberts of Indianapolis, IN; proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. The visitation will be Friday 6-9 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak. The service will be held Saturday 1 p.m., with Commissioner William A. Roberts officiating, at the Salvation Army Royal Oak Citadel Corps. Burial at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
