Colonel Charles J. Southwood, 94, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016. Born in Barberton, OH he was the son of the late John M. and Grace (Troupe) Southwood. He was ordained and commissioned to The Salvation Army, serving several locations in the northeastern part of the United States with his late wife Eva (Cuthbert) Southwood. Surviving is his wife Lt. Colonel Ada (Bozman) Lance-Southwood, daughter Nancy Bolam (William), stepchildren [[Donald Lance II|Lt. Colonel Donald Lance]] ([[Renee Lance|Renee]]), Stephen Lance (Dorothy), [[Carolyn Lance Knaggs|Commissioner Carolyn Knaggs]] ([[James Knaggs|James]]), grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Major Lillian Deitrick and Brigadier Evelyn Grimm. Preceding in death is step daughter [[Normajean Lance Honsberger|Captain Normajean Honsberger]]. Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service from The Salvation Army, 131 S. Queen St., Lancaster, PA 17603 on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a viewing 1 hour prior to the service. Burial in Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
