====Military Rites of Salvation Army As Officers Wed====
With the picturesque military ceremony of the Salvation Army and with prominent officers officiating, two officers of the army will be married in a public wedding at First Reformed church on Monday evening.

Lieut. Helen Beaver, now located at Darby, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Beaver, of Oak street, will become the bride of Captain Thomas Piano, native of Oswego and the commander of the Salvation Army barracks at Port Chester, N.Y.

It will be the first Berwick wedding of Salvation Army Officers in many years. [[..:Norman S Marshall|Colonel Norman Marshall]], of New York City, field secretary and third in Salvation Army command in eleven Eastern states, will perform the ceremony.

With places reserved for the family, the remainder of the church will be open to friends of the couple who desire to witness the ceremony. A reception in the basement, on invitation, will be given the bride and groom at 5 o'clock on the evening of the ceremony.

In accord with Army custom and rites, the flags of the United States and the Army will figure prominently in the marriage and the military tone will predominate. The wedding party will be in the military attire of the Salvation Army. The wedding party will include:

Gwendolyn Churchill, of Bedford, Mass., maid of honor; Captain Nora Addy, of Tyrone, and Captain Mildred Daisy, of Philadelphia, bridesmaids; [[Henry Berkhoudt|Captain Henry Berkhoudt]], of Jamaica, L. I., best man; Captain David Samuelson, of Astoria, L. I., and Captain Norman Noble, of Berwick, attendants; Norma Dawn Beaver, Souderstown, N. J., flower girl; Harvey Philip Davenport, of Benton, ring bearer; [[Richard Atwell|Captain Richard Atwell]], of Lewistown, and Lieut. Mansel J. Cole, of Port Chester, N.Y., standard bearers; Captain Helen Frederickson, of Yonkers; Captain Luella Biyle, of Beacon, N.Y.; Lieut. Ann Schultz, of Brooklyn, and Lieut. Allen Weyant, of New York City, ushers. The bride will be given in marriage by her father.

The marriage is the culmination of a romance of the Salvation Army school. The two young people were students together there, Captain Piano going from Oswego, N. Y., and Miss Beaver from Berwick, after both has served in the Salvation Army details of their respective cities.

Lieut. Beaver has served at Passaic, N. J.; Penn Argyl, Bethlehem and Darby and has devoted her efforts successfully to young people's work.

Captain Piano has served at Union City, N. J.; Astoria, L. I.; Brooklyn and 125th Street, New York City, and one year ago was appointed corps command officer at Port Chester, N. Y. His work has met with marked success and Captain Piano is considered one of the Army's promising young officers.
